Three things to get right

  1. Diffuse light. Shoot near a north-facing window or use two soft lamps at 45°.
  2. Square on. Keep the camera parallel to the frame to avoid keystone distortion.
  3. Include the edges. The signature, frame and verso labels all carry value signals.
