What is the difference between an estimate and a quote?
A quotation is a contractual, detailed and personalised document: it names the insurer, sets out the precise features of the offer, and is binding. The Objais estimate is none of these things — by design. Generated by our native AI from a single photograph, it gives you a first idea of what insuring your item might cost. It is indicative, non-contractual, and is not an insurance offer or a quotation. This is a deliberate choice: we ask you no personal questions, and we require neither an account nor answers to fifty questions. Without that information, a quotation is simply not possible — and it is precisely this absence of friction that makes the estimate free and instant. If the estimate interests you, you can request a personalised quotation at any time. It is only at that stage that we collect the information needed for contractual offers, underwritten by insurers, to be presented to you.
How does the instant insurance estimate work?
Our AI analyses the photos of your asset and compares them against millions of real-world data points — recent sales, auction results, expert valuations and insurance benchmarks. You get an instant insurance estimate in under 30 seconds. No forms, and no questions, just a snap.
What objects can I get an insurance estimate for?
For now, we cover: yachts, fine art, watches, jewellery, handbags collections, antiques, supercars. We'll soon add new categories like health, home, pet insurance and more. Leave your details and we'll let you know.
How quickly can I get coverage?
Two steps, two timelines. You get an instant, non-binding estimate in under 30 seconds. Activating actual coverage takes longer: depending on the asset, the country and the value, an expert assessment and the insurer's approval may be required before the policy goes live.
Are estimates updated over time?
Yes. Our AI tracks market data and updates your estimates automatically. You're notified when an asset's value moves significantly. Important: this updates the insurance estimate in your app, not the coverage in your policy. To adjust the insured amount with your local insurer, request an update from your Objais dashboard — one tap, and your insurer takes it from there.
How does Objais make money?
We're an AI-native insurance broker first. Our main revenue comes from commissions paid by the insurance companies we work with across Europe and beyond, paid by them, not by you. We also partner with independent service providers (legal, valuation, transport, private AI exhibition, storage, restoration, etc.) on a referral basis: when you connect with one through the app, the partner pays us a referral fee. We don't mark up their prices.
